15, at 7 p.m., at the Robert Simons Funeral home. Wake services on Thursday, Sept. 16 will be at the Ryal church at 7 p.m. BUSTER IVORY Buster Ivory, 97, a resident of Hoffman, died Sept. 14, 1999 at a local nursing home.

He was born Dec. 10, 1901 in Shepardsville, Texas to Jim and Louvenia (Hollis) Ivory. He was a longtime farmer and grocery store owner in Hoffman for a number of years. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Preceding him in death were his wife, parents, a brother and a sister.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, along with other relatives. Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 20th, at 11 a.m., in the Holy Temple House of Prayer in Grayson. Elder Henry McGriff will officiate. Interment will be in Hawkins Cemetery under direction of the House of Winn Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Sunday from 3 until 6 p.m. EVA MAYFIELD Eva R. Mayfield, 83, a resident of Haskell, died on Friday, September 10, 1999 in a Dallas, Texas hospital. She was born Sept. 19, 1919 in Fort Gibson, to Robert and Martha (Smith) Mayes.

Survivors include: four sons, Lonnie Mayfield and James Mayfield, both of Okmulgee, Arvin Mayfield and Lewis Mayfield, of Haskell, Oklahoma; six daughters, Dorothy Mayfield of Seattle, Martha Kendricks of Kansas City, Rose Draper of Haskell, Genevie Smith of Tulsa, Thetta Johnson and Mildred Mayfield, both of Haskell; three sisters, Kelly Ball of Tulsa, Katherine Hill of Wichita, Kansas, and Hannah Harrison of Phoenix, Arizona; and numerous other relatives. Services will be held Saturday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m., in the Haskell High School Gym with Rev. Grady Asberry officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery at Fort Gibson under direction of Granger- Winn Funeral Home of Muskogee.

JUDY LEE ROBERTSON Judy Lee Robertson, 59, of Okmulgee, died Wednesday, September 15, 1999 at her home. She was born November 5, 1939 in Tulsa, the daughter of Edward and Alpha (Blevins) Douglas.

She was raised by her step father, Alvin McIntosh. She was a homemaker. Judy married Johnny Robertson in Pacoyma, California, on December 9, 1961. In addition to her husband, Johnny, she is survived by a daughter, Terri Rae Turnham of Claremore; a son and daughter(in-law, Joe and Kathy Robertson of Okmulgee; three grandchildren, Ricky Turnham, and Jon and JoAnna Robertson; four sisters, Barbara Noe of Sand Springs, Nina Nassen of Tulsa, Shirley Morgan of Cleveland and Ginger Gibbens of NM; three brothers, Alvin McIntosh Jr. and Andrew McIntosh, both of Tulsa, and Curtis Douglas of Los Lumas, NM.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Douglas. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 17, 1999 in the Mobley-Dodson Funeral Chapel in Sand Springs, with Pastors Wesley Berry and Bob Strout officiating. Turner Ill "Cull" came to Oklahoma before statehood and helped organize the Farmer and Merchants Bank in Eufaula where he- was primary stockholder and director. Her mother was of the descendants of the Muscogee Confederacy of Georgia of the Upper Creek. She is of the mother clan Wind and her Tribal Town is Arbeka-Tulladega.

Her grandmother Polly Yonder was orphaned when her parents died on the Muscogee Removal from Alabama. She believes that strong people develop strong governments and leadership is the key. She has four children Marion Reuben, a student in engineering at TCC, Justus Turner, a medical student at OKC University in Tulsa, Elizabeth Anne, a student in law at OSU in Oklahoma City, and Rebecca Yonder, a student in behavioral science at Bartleville Wesleyan. As a single mother she understands the economic struggle that it takes to care for a family and a home. She believes that the initiative of the people is the heart of any government.

She is diversified in her background. She attended Fame, and Stidham Schools, graduating in 1962 from Eufaula High School. She attended Bacone College graduating in 1964 with an Associates Degree in Music and Art. She attended Oklahoma University, and graduated in 1967, from Northeastern State University in Art Education. Her graduate studies were in Educational Psychology.

She began working for the Muscogee Nation in January of 1993 with the Johnson O'Malley Program.

She belonged to the National Johnson O'Malley Board for three years, serving as secretary of he NJOMA Board for two years. She helped develop the Cultural Program for the Muscogee Nation and also helped produce the curriculum for the Muscogee language textbook. She believes that the Muscoger Nation will need to protect the young who can not defend themselves, support the employee who gives his lifeblood for the people, take a stand for the families and the elderly who have already paved the way for her to follow. There are some significant "firsts" in her life, as a Sophom*ore in 1959 at Stidham High School, she became the first girl in the United States to become a Future Farmer of American, and the first girl in Oklahoma to take Agriculture. She was the first state chairman in Arkansas for the 55,000 member "Voters in Action" to champion the initiative of the people.

She has served as a Committee Member on the Office of Environmental Quality for the Weyerhaeuser Grant Award Program to Public Schools, finding creative environmental solutions in the community. She has served as a committee member with the "Very Special Arts" with National and State Committees planning cultural and educational activities for physically handicapped Native American children. She has lobbied Congress for full funding for the Johnson O'Malley Program students, keeping monies available for the supplemental needs. of K- 12 Native American students in the public schools. Her movement of Tribal and NJOMA Resolutions with the National Indian Education Association spearheaded Congressional changes in Bills that would have siphoned off monies from Johnson O'Malley Programs Nationwide.

She believes in seeking valid and lucrative avenues to aid the fiscal management of the Muscogee Nation, praying for guidance from God, strengthened by His love for the DAILY OKMULGEE.
