Channel 4 presenter confirms 'vile' co-host was fired after insulting remark (2025)

Anthony Crank, best known for presenting Channel 4 show T4, has recalled the very public sacking of his former Channel 5 co-host.

The 50-year-old TV star and Jasmine Lennard, 39, used to front reality TV format Make Me A Supermodel’s spin-off programme Make Me A Supermodel Extra.

Judged and hosted by Rachel Hunter, 55, the main show followed wannabe models as they competed for a top contract and a glossy magazine spread.

However, Lennard’s time on Make Me A Supermodel Extra was cut short after she made offensive remarks about Kiwi model and Sir Rod Stewart’s ex-wife, Hunter’s appearance.

On Instagram, Crank went on a ‘nostalgia trip’ in which he described Lennard as being famous for ‘being VILE’ and allegedly having a fling with Simon Cowell before she was fired.

In 2006, the Celebrity Big Brother star was dropped by the channel, then called Five, after dubbing Hunter ‘Rachel Munter’ and describing her as ‘spotty, finished and fat.’

‘I suggest she throws out the truckload of make-up she uses and hires a personal trainer,’ Lennard added.

At the time, Make Me A Supermodel production company Tiger Aspect said in a statement: ‘It was very clear in her contract that no derogatory comments were to be made about any of the panel who in the first series eliminated her in the early stages.

‘As she broke this we sadly had no choice but to sack her.’

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Lennard later described her sacking as ‘absolutely ridiculous and quite funny.’

She added: ‘I think Five have acted quite dishonourably and Rachel should just get a life and a sense of humour. They knew the situation when they employed me and surely this is what they wanted.’

Last night on Instagram, Crank relived his experience on Make Me A Supermodel Extra, which ran for one season in 2006.

He wrote: ‘Wee nostalgia trip down presenter lane, this is when I used to host/shout a lot in MAKE ME A SUPERMODEL EXTRA, live and in front of a studio audience. Controversy afoot as my “glamorous” co-host, who was known for being VILE and famous for ragging Simon Cowell called our judge, the Kiwi model Rachel Hunter ‘Rachel Munter’ live on air, resulting in a very public sacking. Best days!’

Lennard first shot to fame after reaching the finals of the first season of Make Me A Supermodel in 2005.

After being sacked as co-host from its spin-off show, she was the first celebrity to be voted out of the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2012.

The daughter of James Bond actress Marilyn Galsworthy, Lennard also had a role alongside Ray Liotta and Jason Statham in Guy Ritchie’s 2005 filmRevolver.

Meanwhile, Crank pursued acting after his TV presenting career on shows including BBC’s Holiday and MTV.
